About
Homeschooling

Canterbury Home Educators provides information meetings to discuss home education, exemptions, different ways to home educate, and everything in between. There will be one or more experienced home educating parents to answer any questions you may have.

Sometimes these meetings are in-person or online, one to one or in a group depending on number of interested families at any given time.

Canterbury Home Educators, or CHE for short, is a network of home educating families and dedicated parents. Home education or homeschooling as it's more commonly known is an option for families in New Zealand. Canterbury Home Educators registered as an incorporated society in 1995 and as a charity in 2008.

CHE is membership based and gives members access to an online community of parents planning and organising home schooling activities and opportunities. Coming together we have found that we are able to achieve a great deal more and have a far greater range of experiences.

All parents are encouraged to organise classes, activities or events to allow for a greater range of experiences, topics of interest and friendships to be made. We are always looking for ways to strengthen our community and improve our services, if you have any ideas or wish to join the Committee please get in touch.
