Activities

Parents are responsible for co-ordinating various activities, typically on either a term or annual basis and have included:

• Gymnastics lessons

• Foreign languages
  
• Field trips and outings
  
• Science Alive! visits and demonstrations
  
• Writing groups
  
• Singing groups
  
• Regular sports days
  
• Annual concert
  
• Family camp
  
• Ski camp
  
• Play and activity groups
  
• Parents seminars
• Polytech woodworking and computer graphics courses for teenagers

And if there is something you would like that is not offered, you might just be the best person to organise it!

Area Groups

         Area groups have been set up to enable you to meet with other home educators in your general area. There are nine areas, five in Christchurch and the other four covering the wider Canterbury area.
Some areas are very active and do things regularly, others are less busy. The areas are shown on a membership list. The person indicated with an asterisk in your area is the area co-ordinator, you can contact them for further details.  If your area is not so active and you'd like it to be, you can offer to arrange an activity yourself to get the ball rolling!
